A few days ago, Brian and I were in Target and noticed a bag of plastic balls that was on clearance. We both thought Carter could have a whole lot of fun with them, but we didn't end up buying them. Days later, we figured out that we didn't buy them because of a miscommunication: We both wanted them, but a comment I made lead Brian to believe that I wouldn't let Carter have them because of the type of plastic they are made of. I do try to limit the "bad" plastics that Carter is exposed to, especially now while he's in the put-everything-and-anything-into-my-mouth phase. However, these balls just looked like so much fun that I didn't care.
(Okay, I do care a little bit.)
I felt a little guilty today as I dumped the Made-in-China, who-knows-what-type-of-plastic balls into Carter's PVC baby pool. I kept thinking "Wow, Cool... you've really lowered your standards." But, then I watched Carter have a blast in there, squealing and squirming and kicking for quite some time:

I think you made a great decision!! It's not like he is eating them! He is having a ball with them! The smiles are priceless and you guys allowed him to be this happy. Yeah for Mom and Dad!
Look how great we turned out from eating Made In China plastic!!!!!
He is always such a happy baby
oh let's just hope that carter doesn't inherit his father's sense of humor. before you know it, it will be all "poop" and "balls" talk in the cool house.
