18 Weeks!

I can't believe were at 18 weeks already. When I look at the number and think about getting all the way to 40 it seems like that's so far off. But, then I look back at when we were at 6, and 8, and it seems like it wasn't too long ago. Time is flying!

Not a lot of progress in the bump department, which seems odd to me. It's not like I had crazy stomach muscles before to slow the "popping out" process, so I expected this baby to just bust right now. Not so much, still just poking out the bumps I've always had a bit further. But whatever, as long as everything's okay in there, I'm happy! Here are the newest updates:

How far along?
18 weeks.

Best part of these 2 weeks:
Feeling the baby move. Which I'm still not positive about, but I've felt it every day since and I'm starting to doubt that it's anything else. In fact, he/she is moving right now as I type.

How do I feel? Still can't complain here, I feel good. My principal (who's on facebook) told me I have to stop making comments on there about feeling huge, so I won't mention that here (but you know I want to!)

Cravings/Aversions: I've been craving iced tea, which I usually don't even like that much. Also apples with peanut butter, and cold cereal. I'm still fairly averted to chicken. I ate some in stir fry the other night, but I didn't particularly enjoy it.

What I miss: Hmm, I don't miss much lately.

What I'm looking forward to: We have an appointment on Wednesday the 24th, during which we'll have an ultrasound and find out the baby's sex. I'm a little melancholy about this, but I'm also terribly excited.

Weekly Wisdom: This pregnancy is a blessing. I've recently been reminded that this doesn't come easily for just everyone, and that we were very lucky (albeit surprised!) to conceive so quickly. I am genuinely grateful for our good fortune, and I just wish I could spread that luck a little. I'm very hopeful for a good friend of mine who's had a much more difficult time of this.

I like your toes...very cute color....I know I notice odd things.

Why are you melancholy about your appointment?

I can only imagine your students when you show up in the fall and you have "popped" and they had no clue. The look on their faces will be priceless.

Have you and Brian started to make decisions about furniture (based upon your past blog).

Sorry for all the odd questions/comments. Also, I am still planning a trip up to see you. Is there any week that is NOT good for you? -Elaine

Hey! I thought I recognized that shirt:) I own it in white too! I wear it all the time, I love the scrunched sides. I am pumped to find out the gender of the baby. You better post it as soon as you find out!
